Vinted Users Share Displeasure About Size Changes

Members of the platform have expressed outrage following a change that caused products showing incorrect sizing.

The popular resale platform has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's garments failing to inform all shoppers about the modification.

Digital Channels Reaction

Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.

Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches similar services.

It has advised users to review their products and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated.

Measurement Approach Modifications

Earlier, the sizes had both a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.

The new system has a letter with a size spectrum for example S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

Shopper Experiences

A fashion influencer, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.

Stephanie Gallen, from Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as measurements 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.

Manual Updates

Another shopper, located in England, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

Platform Context

The service features exceeding 100 million members, with 18 million British users.

It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
